At La Cascina Dei Sapori, Antonio Pappalardo’s restaurant at Rezzato in the Brescian hinterland, pizza lovers are spoilt for choice. They can, in fact, taste classic round Neapolitan pizzas, Roman square pan pizzas (baked in an electric oven, topped or stuffed and served in four slices) or the tasting pizzas, which are high and crunchy, and served sliced to facilitate sharing. All of the doughs are characterized by the use of whole-wheat and semi whole-wheat flour. Apart from the classics, there are some bolder proposals on the menu, inlcuding the tasting pizza with crudo di gambero rosso, burrata, puntarelle and mandarino. There is a well-stocked cellar with both wines (also by the glass) and beers. The restaurant is not particularly attractive, whereas the service is extremely courteous.
