Da non perdere
Located right in the heart of the city center, in the mini-quarter of the internal galleries opposite the duomo, the Vesuvio is one of the historic pizzerias of Schio. Raffaele Falcone comes from Tramonti, a town in the province of Salerno that is home to many pizza chefs. At the wood-fired oven, which he has managed since 1983, lovely discs of dough are baked that are soft and nice and dry. The menu, which is long but not excessively so, covers the traditional Neapolitan varieties and adds some innovations that you just can’t do without (from the hams alla rucola
, to the speck alla mascarpone
, to the mushrooms with chicory to the unleavened dough with kamut). Meager offer of wines and beers. The pizzeria also offers fish and meat dishes for non-pizza lovers.
