Il Vecchio Gazebo
This establishment is certainly one of pizzerias that has been participating actively for some time now in the rebirth of the Pugliese pizza scene. Two very close associates run the venue, you’ll find one in the dining room (Giuseppe Petruzzella) and the other making the pizzas (Domenico Piccininni). The establishment is modern, welcoming, and airy. You’ll be greeted by a courteous, fast and never intrusive service. The pizzas offered have dough unlike all the rest: light, well-hydrated and leavened to perfection, thus renewing the success of all the pizzas proposed by Giuseppe and Domenico year after year. Their pizzas range from the traditional to the innovative. An interesting and fun choice is the pizza with rye dough, chickpea cream, lettuce, lamb cooked at low temperature, sesame and yellow tomato confit. Certainly more convincing with regards to flavor combination is the pizza with smoked buffalo-milk mozzarella, friggitelli, oven cooked cherry tomatoes and guanciale made by Martina Franca. It's always best to make a reservation.
