Caffè Italiano is a well-known Florentine establishment located in the 14th century Palazzo Salviati, a stone's throw from Santa Croce. Under the guidance of Umberto Montano, the establishment has recently changed appearance with a rather significant renovation. The pizzeria has been entrusted to Enrico Vuolo and Guglielmo Vuolo. Enrico’s father Guglielmo usually oversees from afar (but from time to time he is in Florence, making sure all is running smoothly). The pizzas are made in the Neapolitan style (the new pizza chefs wanted a Neapolitan style oven – made by Stefano Ferrara) that does not disappoint. Guglielmo Vuolo is well known for his master interpretations of the marinara pizza. The pizzeria shares its spaces with the restaurant and you can also "trespass" by ordering from both the pizzeria and the restaurant.
