Pizzeria Cocco – Roma
Da non perdere
Open since 1937, this establishment is situated in the Appio quarter (near the Furio Camillo metro stop). Low and crunchy Roman-style pizzas are baked in its wood-fired oven, well-visible to whoever enters. The atmosphere is decidedly family-friendly, with checked tablecloths, wooden tables, and benches. The service is informal yet polite and attentive. When we ordered, we were asked which size of the pizza we preferred, normal or large. The raw materials, even if not chosen attentively, are used to top the pizzas generously and with good taste. The base is well-done with the crusts pleasantly browned. The supplì, instead, could be improved; the rice was undercooked and the sauce was too heavy.
