Premio Scugnizzonapoletano Performance dell’Anno 2019

Stop the press. Rewrite the title and mark this address. Cocciuto is in via Bergognone 24. It is one of the best pizzas in Milan. We could finish our review here if there wasn’t so much more to write about.  The establishment has stone walls, soft lighting and is elegant in its sobriety. It would not look out of place in the heart of Manhattan or London. Here in the fashionable district of Milan it makes its impression. What we have described so far is certainly not the best part of Cocciuto; let’s talk about the pizza. There are very few places in Milan where you can eat such a good pizza. The pizza is in the classic Neapolitan style in terms of the crust. It is left to rise for long periods and topped with high-quality ingredients. The menu is detailed and clear. What is striking about the proposals are the truly special products that highlight the best of Italian good taste and refinement. Examples include the Racale caper, the Ferrandina olive, the Podolico caciocavallo, and the white artichoke of Pertosa. Pizzas are baked to perfection and are highly digestible. Absolutely worth trying.
