This is an indisputable landmark for historic, working-class Naples. Maria Cacialli and her husband Felice Messina’s pizzeria, with its wood-fired oven at the entrance and the spacious rooms on the lower floor, has solidified its style also thanks to a modern and extensive marketing project. The service can be defined as “Scugnizzo” (working-class), but also very professional with an easy-to-read, simple menu. “Cartwheel” pizzas, as is customary in the Tribunali area, are served here. They have a slightly pronounced crust; an integral part of a the pizza which is always well baked and well leavened. All of the classic pizzas are made by the book, from the fried pizzas to the margherita (with fiordilatte or buffalo-milk mozzarella) and are topped with high-quality toppings. The traditional fried Neapolitan pizzas with ricotta, provola, pepper and cicoli di maiale are excellent.
