At Massarosa, not far from the coast of Versilia, there is this pizzeria which for a few years now has done a good job of putting itself on the map.  The décor is in a minimalist style; there is a garden with tables for summer dining, and a menu with Neapolitan pizzas and calzones.  Apart from the pizzas, you can also choose from among some dishes from the kitchen (including an antipasto of mixed fried delicacies).  There are also homemade desserts.  Beverages include a couple of local craft beers, and a wine list that also allows you to bring your own bottle from home.  Homage is paid to tradition with the escarole and anchovy calzone.  We highly recommend the Ciurilla with zucchini flowers, provolone del Monaco, and crunchy pancetta.  The various changes “al forno” (at the oven) have affected this pizzeria.  There has been a reduction in the number of pizzas on the menu, and a drop in the quality of the pizza, which is still good but no longer unforgettable as it used to be.
