This restaurant-pizzeria has been a mainstay of the gastronomic community in Bassanese for some years now.  The Ottocento is synonymous with quality and innovation.  The kitchen proposes excellent gourmet dishes, but the strength of this establishment still remains its pizzas, or the “lievitati” (leavened) as they are called on the menu.  In fact, the secret of their success is the dough, which is the result of a skilled combination of different flours and a sourdough starter.  The toppings, which are seasonal and top quality, do the rest. The constant, careful attention to the sourcing of the raw materials has brought recognition to the Ottocento in Bassanese.  It was awarded the top organic restaurant in Veneto by the “Icea” brand in 2018.  This milestone was not only a reflection of substance: not long ago, the “lievitati” were served in slices and topped one by one in full “gourmet” style.  Today, instead, the pizza is served in its traditional form, almost as if to be sure that the presentation of the dish does not take away from the authenticity of the product.
