Taking as stroll down Via Caravaggio at night, after having crossed Vomero, and looking towards the plain of Naples is truly a breathtaking experience. In this residential area, Enzo Coccia has decided to open his elegant and welcoming workshop, dominated by red and black colors. It is the result of a collaboration between chefs, travelling experiences, and a decision to promote the best products on the market. The dough is soft, fragrant and baked with skill, and has three different types of toppings. The first is inspired by tradition but elevated to contemporary standards. The second is inspired by seasonality to better express nature in all of its phases with respect for the environment. The third type comes from Enzo’s inspiration, which can be freely expressed here. One particular wine chosen from the superb list went very well with a white pizza we had with lard, sautéed broccoli, percorino and semi-confit cherry tomatoes. The wine and pizza complemented each other creating a fullness of flavor halfway between savory and sour.
