Pizzeria Starita a Materdei
Da non perdere
This is a “Centenary” pizzeria in the Materdei quarter, and a landmark above all for those who live in the surrounding area, and even more so for the tourists who here can try on of the historic pizzas of the city. The establishment is led by Antonio Starita, a pizza chef-businessman who knows how to present his family history, without upending it, to the needs of a market in continual evolution. The varied menu is divided into classics, specialties, seasonals, fried and calzones. Apart from the excellent fried offerings, we recommend the Marinara Starita which is interpreted with datterino tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil and parmesan and the double-cooked Montanara Starita: a classic that is first fried and then baked. This is were the first angioletti were created, bits of fried pasta that can be chosen as a starter if they are seasoned in their savory version or as a close to the meal if covered with melted chocolate or cream of pistachio. The service is cordial and highly organized. The beverage proposals satisfy all personal tastes.
