Masardona was Carmela Pintauro, Enzo Piccirillo’s mother; her nickname gave the name to the historic fryer near the Central Station founded after the war by her in-laws. We are at the fourth generation; at the fryer Cristiano, who joins Enzo, to keep the tradition in step with the times. The tradition is represented by fried pizza, from sour cream, which is suitable for prolonging the taste, when you have eaten one and still want a little more but two are too many, and from the marsala which you can combine, tasting Parthenopean wisdom of the twentieth century. Modernity is represented, however, by the restyling of the place and the gracefully elegant menu, alongside the historic filling of ricotta and hazelnuts, octopus salad, cod or endives with olives.
