A modern pizzeria, as all should be. This is the most fitting definition for Ciro Salvo’s premise – expanded and nonetheless always full – at Piazza Sannazzaro. A well-designed and furnished environment, simple and clean lines, the service is efficient, quick and informative. Also, a good choice of drinks, at the bar or on the menu, be it wine or locally brewed beer; the fried starters are always of high quality. A menu with classic pizzas, from the Marinara to the Cossack. With the excellent Margherita with endives (the “50 Kalò”, always among the favourites on the menu), and then all the variations, made with the best products that Campania and the rest of Italy have to offer, such as provolone from Monaco DOP, on a red pizza with Irpinian salame, or capicollo from Martina Franca, delicious on a white pizza with artichokes. The dough is traditional, but with an elevated level of hydration, for a result that is always at its best. The “classic” margherita is recommended, always at a level unattainable for everyone, and for us, the pizza of the year 2018.
