Few but good: 10 red pizzas and 11 white (but with the possibility of requesting any of them in the “black” version with plant carbons) in this wonderful place in the main square of Pizzo, a few steps from the castle where in 1815 Gioacchino Murat was executed. The oven is in full view: in the elegant dining room that seats 24 (with 36 more seats outdoors) the pizza chef is the undeniable protagonist. The doughs ensure an excellent lightness and the quality ingredients do the rest. The wine selection is more comprehensive, thanks to the seafood, but a better selection of beers – perhaps from a few local Calabrese breweries – would render this the perfect place. The only blemish: the tall step at the entrance, compensated by a handicap-accessible bathroom.
