Pepe is a pizzeria with a kitchen that today has two locations: San Giovanni and Tuscolana. The first is a few steps from Tuscolo Square. A spacious establishment, with brick walls painted white and iron beams reminiscent of the New York style. Young and confident servers, a small beer and wine list, while out of the kitchen come plates from the Roman tradition, salads and good hamburgers.
The pizza is classic Roman; cooked in a wood-oven, with dough made from stone-ground flour and with a long-rising time. The pizza menu is rich and varied: it offers red and white traditional pizzas as well as newer and Roman flavors: amatriciana, cheese and pepper, bacon and carbonara.
