Always very crowded, Tondo is one of the principle points of reference for pizza-lovers in the city: located in Piazza Ignazio Florio, between the Liberty buildings in the center of Palermo, a short distance from the marina. Pleasant dining area, with high ceilings and stone arches, furnished and illuminated with elegant simplicity. The pizza menu offers a fascinating mix including local Sicilian specialties such as sciavata, sfincione and pitone, and Neapolitan classics, including fried pizzas. Great care is taken in the selection of the ingredients: stone ground flours, salamis and vegetables from the local area, and the finest buffalo milk mozzarella PDO, produced in Paestum. Not to be missed, among the fried offerings, the delicious fresh matchstick potatoes. Good variety of dishes other than pizza, and an excellent selection of craft beers and quality wines. Kind and efficient service, booking by telephone strongly advised.
