On the Catanzaro lido seafront you can taste a truly textbook gourmet pala pizza. The word Kalavrì means Calabria, belonging to one’s land. The sense of this place is well illustrated by the spinoff to this establishment, “Anima e Pizza” (Pizza and soul). Michele Intrieri, a son of the trade, took his first steps in the family pizzeria at the age of 9. He is a talented professional of perfectly flaky and soft dough. The flavors for the toppings have been suggested by Luca Abbruzzino, an icon of Calabrian high cuisine at the helm of the famous starred restaurant in the city. The flour used comes from the Mulino Bruno, a historic Calabrian mill active since 1902. Careful research is also done into the raw materials used, all of which come from the local territory. There is a good selection of beers, including a selection dedicated to craft beers. The service deserves a note of merit. The staff is well trained and customer-orientated.
