A dough soft like a cloud dropped into boiling oil, here becomes in a few seconds a tasty and fragrant fried pizza capable of filling you up. Alternatively, you can have a “battilocchio”, a smaller size fried pizza that is less filling but still very appetizing. This old frying kitchen, used from the fourth generation by the Piccirillo family, now represented by the brothers Cristiano and Salvatore, is located in the populous “Case Nuove” (new homes) district. Very close to the central station as well as being a movie set for the famous, recent series “L’amica geniale” (My brilliant friend). The fried pizza is excellent, crispy-dry and tasty. The toppings enhance and accentuate the flavors and aromas of ricotta, cicoli (pork meat bits), and first choice pepper. Also available from the menu is a series of fried courses, stuffed with seasonal vegetables and various ingredients assuring traditional flavors of the area. Table service is simple and well organized. The drinks menu is small but well-assorted. The environment is overall pleasant and it nicely combines the wisdom of tradition with contemporary needs.
