L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele
Da non perdere
If you are from Naples, you have to go here at least once in your life. If you are not, well if you happen to come through town you cannot miss a stop here.
This is one of the centenary pizzerias of the city. It is located halfway between the central train station and Forcella. It continues to be faithful to is antique working-class style. The place is basic, with simple furnishings, walls covered in white tiles and marble tabletops. Standing in line is unavoidable due to the constant stream of customers every day of the week. The pizza is classic, with dimensions that hang over the side of your plate. It is served in two classic versions: the margherita and the marinara. The dough is traditional, rolled out thinly and topped with traditional toppings which are enhanced by a seed oil.
The service is simple yet fast. The tables are always full and often shared by patrons – a feature that is conducive to exchanging a few words among strangers. To drink there is water, only one type of beer and a few beverages. Affordable prices.
