The Rumolo family opened Le Grotticelle in 2018, in the mountains facing the charming village of Caggiano (SA). The structure is made completely out of stone, with a large room inside which hosts 80 place settings. In summer you can also opt to eat outside. The service is very friendly and quick. Angelo’s is a farmer’s pizza with great character: the toppings are full of flavor and well-balanced, the dough is traditional and prepared with sourdough. The in-season pizzas are Angelo Rumolo’s most authentic creations: they change every week according to what is available from the family garden next to the establishment. The wild herbs and the excellent local truffles, which Angelo collects, are the toppings which stand out the most. Do not miss his Genovese, with four different types of onion, a base of veal and fiore di latte, complemented by a cheese from Altamura which has aged for 40 months, local sausage, pepper and basil.
