At almost three years since its opening, Meunier, Pizza & Champagne has solidified its identity: gourmet pizzas paired to refined sparkling wines; the only locale in Umbria to dare to attempt such a thing. Pietro and Anna Chiara have thus created a place where it is possible to experiment with alluring suggestions, which never fail to include novelties. Examples include the intriguing Apollo 11, with delicious slices “painted” with a provencal sauce of tomato, red garlic and Taggiasche olives, crunchy chicken, sprouts from Aglione della Val di Chiana and mayonnaise with sweet and sour red onion. The research into the raw materials and the design of the “dish” are the strongholds of the extremely varied offer. However, it is the dough, which was modified in its hydration and leavening during the “forced closure” months, that is the undeniable protagonist. In addition to all of this, is an incredibly pleasant dining area and an intelligent selection of Champagnes at decidedly convenient prices.
