Pizzerie Eccellenti 2020
Moma Pizzeria Romana
Located in the densely populated neighbourhood of Tuscolano, not far from the theatres of Cinecittà and near the Lucio Sestio metro stop. We strongly recommend reaching the establishment through the metro given the difficulties in finding parking. The establishment can be considered a classical neighbourhood pizzeria, frequented also on weekdays, with an open outdoor space. Even if the interior décor is a bit outdated, the wood-fired oven is proudly displayed. The dough is made with various flours, the pizza disc is well cooked and the crust is high and crunchy. The tomato and fior di latte used on the Margherita could be of better quality, while the boscaiola is more pleasant, however, even in this case, the cooking of the sausage could be improved. There are many appetizers, including fried breaded caciocavallo with chopped pistachios, and cacio e pepe riceballs. The rice is slightly overcooked but the breaded batter is quite good. In terms of wine, the only selections available are red and white house wines, both by the bottle or by the glass. The service is attentive and courteous.
