Pizzerie Eccellenti 2020
Two magnificent ovens, which are dedicated to the children of the owners, can be seen as you enter this establishment. The dining area is well-organized with suitable spacing between tables. The pizzeria is located in a historical building in Portici, and there is a patio which faces onto the street which gives it its name. The section dedicated to the Vesuvian pizzas is noteworthy. They use the many raw ingredients which are available in this fertile land that perfumes of lava. The pizzas are made according to the Neapolitan school, with some room left for contemporary trends. The Marinara and the Margherita are the classics on the menu which we appreciated. However, there was a small fault due to overbaking, especially with the former. The topping on the Scarpariello was far too generous, even though the disparity between the ingredients was forgiven for its attractiveness and the overall delicacy of the stir-fried datterino sauce. The beverages on offer are reduced to a bare minimum, which should be expanded to complement the abundance on the menu. The daily offer of a first and second course, as in a traditional tavern, is a valid plus.
