This establishment in the heart of Naples, at the entrance to the Port’Alba, is where thousands of students have satiated their hunger at lunchtime with a classic pizza a portafoglio (a “wallet” type pizza that is eaten folded into quarters). The Pizzeria Bellini is among others in the area that continue this tradition. It opened after the Second World War and has now been completely renovated in its décor and furnishings thanks to the third generation that is now at the helm.
The ample seating is divided among various dining areas, and there is a kitchen that proposes typical Neapolitan dishes. As far as the pizza is concerned, it is made using the classic approach. It is well-executed overall, including its dough, the crust and its combination of toppings. More original pizzas, however, are also proposed on the menu. Expert waiters are well-prepared as seen from the ready joke down to the “espresso” super-fast service.
