Pizzerie Eccellenti 2020
Ristorante Pizzeria La Torre
In this establishment, Sardegna meets the medieval site of Domodossola. When the Swiss wind blows hard, the island fortress resits and counterattacks using the sea and tradition as its ammunition. This establishment proposes fish, but also seafood such as malloreddus, fregula and seadas, the latter also in a dessert. The interior dining room is bright. There are three tables positioned outside just a few steps away from the central Piazza Mercato. The Sardinian influence also comes through in the crispy and thin pizzas. For example, the pizza that bears the house name contains a successful combination of artichokes and bottarga. In total there are sixteen proposals on the menu (classic pizzas and others of medium creativity) all of good quality, made with well-chosen ingredients such as cheeses. The service is diligent. The wine list is accurately structured and well-balanced to accompany the pizzas. The Cannonau rosè and the three good Vermentini are a must.
