Ristorante Val Pomaro
The view up at Val Pomaro, located in one of the most spectacular areas on the southern side of the Euganei hills (an area rich in wines), is alone worth the trip. As is the food, made in a 63-year long tradition. The founder is Orazio Bonello, a great connoisseur of wild herbs and a master butcher. His son-in-law Andrea Cesarone has passionately worked in the multifaceted world of baked goods since 2008. He has managed to create yet another attraction at this lovely establishment in Arquà Petrarca. The pizza is made with antique grains and one hundred percent organic flour. The dough is perfectly leavened and is light and fragrant. Andrea is now flanked by his daughter Ilaria, who has created further versions: steamed, Neapolitan and “mezza farina” (half flour). There is also a pizza with a low gluten content. Various top-quality ingredients are used for the toppings: from the prosciutto to the burrata, to the leaks to the Taleggio cheese. There is a great wine list and about ten artisan beers that have been knowledgeably selected.
