When you call this establishment on the phone, they answer saying “ This is Tony’s.” The location is the same as always, on the north-eastern outskirts of the city, and the sign is the same as well. Among all the pizzerias in Vicenza, this establishment is the most Neapolitan in style. It was renovated a few years ago and has changed quite a bit. It is part of a small network (Il Giglio is number 2). There are still few tables, the ones outside are numbered especially now considering the period of social distancing. There is still the same popular appeal and the same cordiality of the pizza chef and staff. The same is true for the new delivery boy. On the menu, you will find high crust pizzas in the Neapolitan style that are always good. Compared to the past there are more selections on the menu. There are more than 10 brands of beer to choose from, and you can also order restaurant dishes like a “cuoppo” of fried fish. Tony’s pizza now has more sections on the menu, which is same menu as the other three “Gigli” establishments in Vicentino. The “creative” pizzas use famous ingredients like DOP buffalo-milk mozzarella, ‘nduja, ventricina, pistachios from Bronte, cherry tomatoes from Piennolo, lard from Colonnata and olives from Taggiasca.
