The Novoli neighborhood, just north of the city, is certainly nothing to write home about. However, Marco Manzi’s authentic Neapolitan pizza definitely makes it worth a visit. The San Marzano tomatoes, which are seared and peeled, definitely reign supreme here. The ingredients are traditional, and are all DOP or IGP certified (examples include the DOP buffalo-milk mozzarella from Battipaglia, the DOP Parmigiano Reggiano, and the IGP mortadella from Bologna) and come from just a few selected suppliers. The crust is high and crunchy and the skill of the pizza chef is also shown in the softness of the fried pizza. It is topped with datterino tomato sauce, parmesan cream, basil pesto, extra virgin olive oil, and served as an appetizer. We also recommend the house-made desserts for the end of your meal.
