Located just a few steps from Via della Liberta in the heart of the city, this historic and extremely crowded panificio (bread bakery) offers a good selection of pan pizzas, from the classic margherita to the more inviting rustica, and then more typical Palermo options: lo sfincione, with tomato sauce, onion, anchovies, bread and caciocavallo cheese. We recommend trying the pizzette, a soft, sumptuous reminder of your childhood. Moreover, at the counter it is possible to choose from the many pasta dishes of the day which are rooted in tradition: pasta al forno, gateau di patate, and pasta con le sarde. The pastificio has just opened next door, where it is possible to purchase different types of fresh pasta. There is no service; you come here to get a slice of pizza and go.
