Robert Garvey, an eclectic character, a maritime engineer, journalist, playwright, and New Yorker by origin, moved to Chicago and in 2016 opened this restaurant, which showcases his great passion for pizza. Located just steps away from Michigan Avenue, the view overlooks Ogden Slip, a narrow canal with a dock for pleasure boats. The restaurant is well-maintained, refined, and informally elegant. A selection of appetizers, including the excellent arancini, which are truly hard to find as good as these around here, and a variety of dishes are offered. The pizza dough is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making chewing a delightful experience. The toppings range from the most classic to the most imaginative, even in their names. They are fresh and of high quality, and the drink menu is extensive, allowing for exploration in a truly important spirits section. Among the pizzas we recommend trying the Jay, with excellent sausage. The outdoor space is beautiful in the warmer months, and the staff is super friendly, doing everything possible to make you feel comfortable.
