Pizza and Southern Italian cuisine in Manhattan. It is served by Fabio and Ciro Casella, from Salerno, who wanted to name their restaurant after the patron saint of their hometown, San Matteo.
On the menu are white and red pizzas, panuozzi, and many pasta dishes that taste like home, as well as various delicious typical fried foods such as the tasty Mozzarella in Carrozza, Potato Croquettes, and Arancini. The Sausage and Friarielli is very good, becoming a classic alongside the balanced and tasty Margherita and Marinara pizzas. The meatballs are also very popular and worth trying.
Completing the menu are platters with an assortment of Italian cured meats and cheeses, as well as fresh and pleasant salads.
The drink menu is adequate, with table service and delivery available; events are also organized.
