Lievito Madre al Duomo
With an empire in constant expansion, Milan was a must for the forward-looking Gino Sorbillo. In a two-floor space right in the centre of the city, it is possible to order not only pizza, but also a choice of first courses and the traditional offering of fried treats, all expertly made. It is the same irregularly shaped Neapolitan pizza of Via dei Tribunali, from the traditional margherita and Salame Irpino to the version with buffalo ricotta, pork crackling, cow’s milk mozzarella and pepper. It is not possible to book so a bit of queuing is inevitable. The service is efficient and very fast; once ordered, your piping hot pizza will be on the table and ready to eat in just a few minutes. The wine list mainly features labels from the region of Campania.
