Tanka Sapkota leaves his country of Nepal at the age of 18 to get to Lisbon at the age of 22, where he has now lived with his family for about 25 years. In this beautiful city, Tanka reaches his goal starting from the pizza. He learns the art of pizza in Italy, among Bonci, Coccia, and Pepe, and later decides to propose the classic Neapolitan style pizza at his restaurant. Forno d’Oro is your classic Neapolitan pizzeria and the pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven. The restaurant is very nicely set up down to the smallest detail, including the fresh decorating flowers and the majolica porcelains. There is a nice selection of wines and beers to choose from, and, as soon as you sit down, you are welcomed with typical Italian bruschettas made with fresh tomatoes. The classic pizzas are baked to perfection, the seasonal pizzas as well as the Portuguese ones are made with great attention to the selection of raw materials which are harvested from local artisans. The service is perfect; for the 50 seats, there are seven waiters attending. The venue tends to be quite frequented, partly because the pizzeria is located in a residential and office building area just outside the historic city center.
