Pizzerie Eccellenti 2020
Sebastian Pub
This establishment is housed in a carefully restored 1951 fishing boat, which arrived at Ferrara through an improbable journey by way of canals. It has distinctive wood furnishings, a pirate-like atmosphere, portholes, lanterns, brass and comfortable tables situated in different dining areas between the bow and the stern. On the whole it makes for an unconventional experience. Fried food, piadine, hamburgers, but most of all the pizzas, make the journey worthwhile. There are two doughs made with selected grains, one of which is wholegrain. The result is thin, stretched, soft and crispy pizzas. They are oval in shape with a minimal crust, and are also available in a baby version. You can place your order using a QR code. The “Barbados” is tasty and flavorful, with mozzarella, Parma prosciutto, walnuts, honey, cherry tomatoes, rucola and burrata placed after baking. We also recommend the “Croce del Sud,” with tomatoes, mozzarella, ‘Nduja from Spilinga, roast pork, buffalo-milk mozzarella placed after baking and pepper. But there is also the “Vegan Power,” with tomatoes, funghetto eggplant, capers, Taggiasche olives, caramelized red onions and walnuts. The service is diligent and there is a vast choice of home-brewed beers.
